DMS Announcements
8th Grade Transition to High School
It seems too early to be discussing this topic, but several key decisions and forms will need to be completed in the next few months. Many private and vocational schools have already had their open houses and placement test. You may still be able to schedule a school visit to one of these schools if you missed open house. All private schools will ask for an application to be completed which includes a reference section for the teachers and guidance counselors to complete. All we ask is that you give our staff a reasonable amount of time to complete these forms. For those students attending DHS they will be filling out schedules for their freshmen year in the next two months. There will be an open house for parents on February 2nd which will be followed up by having all 8th grade students visit DHS on February 9th. We look forward to working with you in this process and please don’t hesitate to contact the 8th grade guidance counselor, Mrs. Caito-Galligan, for information and guidance.8th Grade Parents
